Robyn Deans is the Accounting Assistant at InSymbiosis, and the journey she has taken to this point in time goes something like this. Growing up in the Northwest Territories, her love of numbers started early. All those long, dark, and cold winters spent playing board games (Pay-Day was a favorite), counting the days until spring (a forecasting formula), and analyzing just how many marshmallows it takes to make a perfect hot chocolate (12 minis or 3 large). After graduation, she moved south to warmer climes, completed her studies, and landed her first job in accounting for a global environmental engineering firm in Calgary. After spending six years enjoying the mountains, she felt the ocean calling. This led her to the United Kingdom, where she worked in London as a Billing Clerk for a global media company. After becoming immersed in British culture, she (or rather, her work visa) decided it was time to try a little French immersion à Montréal. Et voilà, elle est ici. Having been with InSymbiosis since December 2014, she is still making strides in her French while continuing to enjoy the unique culture of the beautiful bilingual city she now calls home.
And yes, Robyn suffers from mild OOD (obsessive organizational disorder) and adores spreadsheets.
