Business Development Director- Boston Area
An exciting opportunity now exists to join the InSymbiosis team as a Business Development Director based in the Boston Area. We are searching for a full time entrepreneurial, enthusiastic and hard working professional with a strong network of biotech and pharma companies to aggressively build our client base in the Boston area as well as in other East Coast biopharma hubs.
InSymbiosis is a rapidly growing drug development contract research organization (CRO) based in Montreal, Canada who have developed and implemented a very unique and successful CRO model. The company provides preclinical, clinical and CMC services, project management, consulting and collaborative co-development opportunities to the global biotech and pharmaceutical industry. InSymbiosis performs drug development over a broad range of disciplines covering the entire drug development space for both small molecule and biologics drugs.
THE JOB:
The Business Development Director will introduce the companies’ services to biotech and pharmaceutical companies and as a result, develop a strong pipeline of business.
The Business Development Director’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leverage their existing contacts base to introduce the companies services and capabilities
- Cultivate relationships with biotech and pharma companies within the territory
- Aggressively grow a pipeline of business within the territory
- Work closely with InSymbiosis’ scientific team to evaluate the scientific and strategic fit of new opportunities
- Work closely with the account management team in order to deliver high quality proposals to clients
- Working with InSymbiosis’ senior management team and legal council, navigate contract negotiations and close deals
- Travel regularly to Montreal
- Deliver on revenue goals set by the executive team
- Provide monthly reports to track activity and progress
QUALIFICATIONS, QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE:
- A degree in a life sciences discipline or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years experience in sales and/or business development for a CRO or selling scientific solutions
- Experience in lead generation and preparation and negotiation of proposals is a must
- Experience selling one or more of the following types of services: toxicology (GLP), clinical trials (GCP), chemical or biologics manufacturing or formulation development (GMP)
- A previous proven track record of sales success
- A good working knowledge of the drug development process
- Excellent verbal/written communication, strong negotiation and presentation skills
- Highly disciplined, independent, entrepreneurial self-starter who is able to work autonomously from a home based office whilst remaining well connected with the company’s headquarters in Montreal.
