The week of June 19 was a long and hectic one for us with all the back-to-back networking receptions and partnering meetings at BIO and RESI. Nonetheless we had a great time in San Diego, the weather was fabulous and we’ve made many great connections!
This year, BIO hosted their Monday Welcome Reception in the center of the Petco baseball park. This event also showcased trampoline acrobatic performers and was a great spot to mingle and get to know one another over food and drinks. BIO also hosted a taste of the town block party networking reception Wednesday evening in the Gaslamp Quarter District where 5th Avenue from Island Street to G Street were blocked off in order to let BIO attendees roam around and taste delicious samplers from various restaurants. These were among some of the great events that happened during the week.
The BIO International Convention hosts about 16,000+ attendees every year from biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers and related organizations across the world. It is a place where people come together to get access to global biotech and pharma leaders, to gain exposure to industry through-leaders from educational sessions, and for unparalleled networking opportunities.
Furthermore, the Redefining Early Stage Investments (RESI) conference is much smaller than the BIO conference and is more geared towards circuit partnering for early stage life science companies to source investors, create relationships, and close the gaps on finding capital.
See you next year!
