The InSymbiosis Model
How we work with our clients
InSymbiosis strives to become an integral part of their client’s research and development team. Whether you are an emerging company with few internal resources or a mature, product stage company dealing with bottlenecks in your process, InSymbiosis can provide customized solutions to progress your project. It is InSymbiosis’ objective to leverage our experience, skills and network of partners together with our cost effective business model to ensure that your projects reach critical milestones on time and on budget.
Our Process
Whether your project is in early phase drug discovery or research, latter phase preclinical research or clinical research and development, the InSymbiosis process will enable you to succeed. From first discussions with a client through to the achievement of project deliverables, InSymbiosis follow its proven project management process. Our process begins with defining and agreeing upon our clients objectives before we build a project team consisting of InSymbiosis project managers and scientific experts from our partner’s network. The project team then drafts a project plan and budget which after approval by the client, results in initiation of the project. InSymbiosis’ project management process then ensures that projects are executed and delivered on time and on budget.

Project Management
Project management resides at the core of all projects performed at InSymbiosis. Our proven process uses a series of phases, the transition between which requires a phase gate review involving InSymbiosis’ project team and the client. The process is designed to identify and reduce the key risks during the earlier phases of the project, thereby biasing projects that progress to a greater chance of success. The InSymbiosis project management process is thorough but at the same time practical, so as not to hinder project progression with unnecessary bureaucracy.
Drug Development and Regulatory Consultancy
InSymbiosis provide support to our clients at various stages in the drug development process. We actively assist our clients to plan their preclinical IND/IMPD enabling programs by combining scientific, regulatory and project management knowledge. During a drug development project, our clients often look to us to provide insight and scientific guidance as well as to identify solutions to complex problems. InSymbiosis customize a project team to provide all of the direction that a project requires. This often involves bringing together internal resources as well as external opinion leaders and consultants for specific disease areas, CMC and regulatory topics. In terms of regulatory consulting, InSymbiosis assist our clients to navigate through the regulatory process by assisting with preparation of documentation, pre-IND meetings and preparation of all correspondence with the regulatory authorities.
Project Teams
Our project teams represent a unique strength for our client. By combining experienced project managers with key scientific leaders selected from our partner’s network, the appropriate balance of process and scientific management ensures that our client’s project progress’s to plan and with the highest technical standards.
Partner’s Network
At InSymbiosis, we carefully select the researchers who form our partner’s network based upon key criteria. These include:
- Overall and specific expertise
- Capacity and stability
- Project management and communication skills
- Cost effectiveness
In short, we choose the best partner for the specific project in question. InSymbiosis leverage partners on a global scale but we often select our partners from the many highly qualified research institutes and companies located in the province of Québec, one of the world’s most competitive and cost effective locations to perform preclinical and clinical research and development. The cost effectiveness of Québec and Canada at large is a result of low labour rates and running costs combined with generous government support for research and development.
